John Leber brings 45 years of business     experience to Swanson Bark & Wood Products. His career has included starting and managing his own businesses as well as advising and managing troubled businesses for others.

In 1964, Mr. Leber started a fresh market farming operation which he operated for ten years. The business grew, packed and shipped fresh market vegetables across the country.

Drawing on his business success and accounting training, he was called up to help several troubled businesses regain viability.

In 1994 John Leber purchased Swanson Fuel, a small local retail bark and wood supplier. The name was changed to Swanson Bark & Wood Products, Inc., the workforce has grown to over 100, and Swanson has been transformed from a small, locally focused business into a nationally recognized entity that distributes its products throughout the US. 

Mr. Leber is the past-president of the Cowlitz  Economic Development Council and is active on the CEDC Board of Directors. He is past chairman of the Kelso Longview Chamber of Commerce’s Transportation Committee, sits on the boards of two industry associations, is past-president and treasurer of his Rotary Group and remains active in Rotary and the local community.
